Today, I am speaking as the human being that I am, seeing a world that is in deep crises. even if I know very much about the deep existencial reason for this, I have to cry out a warning!
It is WE, the people in the world that MUST change direction!
I wrote the following on my Facebook profile today:
The world is in crisis. I think this primarily because good values are no longer the guiding principles among many media people and leaders. When state leaders are allowed to insult other state leaders openly and without justification and the media quote it as if it is normal, then something must be done! Are values such as respect, honesty, justice, politeness, gratitude, apology, forgiveness, humbleness gone?
In Norway, freedom of expression is strong and the criminal code is clear about what one cannot say. Nevertheless, boundaries have been crossed that make it, for example, uncomfortable to watch the news or follow a debate program on TV. It is so uncomfortable that I mostly let it be.
In the world community, the Declaration of Human Rights should actually take care of ALL people. It is endorsed by all member states.
Nevertheless, I am horrified by what some state leaders can bring themselves to say and do against other state leaders and countries.
Strong commitment and unity from the grassroots are needed to stop this development! From people who have common sense, a sense of justice, and decency in their backbone and in their hearts.
